On September 24th, 2019 Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House, stated that she is pursuing a formal impeachment inquiry of President Donald Trump. Pelosi specifically charged that the Administration violated the law by not turning over a whistleblower complaint concerning Trump’s July call with the Ukrainian President.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday called on all lawmakers to honor their constitutional oath to protect the country “from all enemies, foreign and domestic.” Pelosi explicitly stated that the President allegedly pushed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.
However, Biden has acknowledged on camera, that when he was vice president, he successfully pressured Ukraine to fire its top prosecutor, Viktor Shokin. Shokin was investigating the natural gas firm Burisma Holdings — where Hunter Biden, Joe Biden’s son, was on the board. Shokin himself had separately been accused of corruption.
In response, President Trump vowed to release a “complete” transcript of his call with Zelensky by Wednesday. Further, according to a Politico report released on Monday night, the Trump Administration was preparing to turn over the entire whistleblower complaint, and the accompanying inspector general report, to congress.
Although, Pelosi pressed on and suggested that impeachment could be appropriate even for matters unrelated to the Ukraine probe.
“This week, the president has admitted to asking the president of Ukraine to take actions which would benefit him politically,” Pelosi said. “Therefore, today, I’m announcing the House of Representatives is moving forward with an official impeachment inquiry. I’m directing our six committees to proceed with their investigations under that umbrella.

“The president must be held accountable,” she continued. “No one is above the law.”
In 2018, the White House former Chief Strategist Steve Bannon stated that should the “Blue Wave” be successful, and should the Democrats win the House of Representatives in November of 2018, ‘the President will be impeached.’ Bannon left the White House in 2017 and assisted the President in winning the 2016 election.
Further, according to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., in response to Pelosi’s statements, stated that the Democrats have been pushing for impeachment for years, for a variety of reasons.
“Nancy Pelosi may be Speaker of the House,” McCarthy said, “but she does not speak for America. … What she said today made no difference in what’s been going on. This election is over. It’s time to put the public before politics.”
House Oversight Committee Ranking Member Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, called Democrats’ efforts predictable and destructive in his statement.
“Democrats have been trying to impeach the President since the beginning of this Congress,” Jordan said. “Michael Cohen’s testimony was a bust. John Dean’s statement was a waste of time. The Mueller report did not live up to the hype.
The House of Representatives is set to press on into a formal impeachment inquiry, and some argue that the impeachment inquiry will backfire drastically as every other investigation and or formal allegation has with the President.
It should be strongly noted, that the United States is descending into election season, and the Democrats in the House of Representatives are kicking off the season by attempting to impeach the President.

Rather, the notations are based on memory, notes, and quotes from those privy to the phone call.
The President of the United States did not specifically allude to a quid pro quo; however, he did mention the investigation regarding Joe Biden and corruption, Crowdstrike, and other points of interest. Regardless, Democrats are still pursuing the impeachment inquiry.
